Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this really free?

Yes, genuinely free. You can create up to 3 Quick guides per month without paying anything. No credit card required, no "free trial" tricks.

We also offer premium tiers for travelers who want more: Deep Research mode (which digs deeper into Reddit threads and local sources), more monthly guides, and features like calendar integration. But the free tier isn't crippled - it gives you real, useful recommendations.

We'd rather you try it free and come back than never try it at all.

Q: What makes this different from TripAdvisor or Google?

We find what they bury. TripAdvisor and Google optimize for paid placements and mass appeal. The "hidden gem" cafe that locals love but only has 47 reviews? It's on page 12.

We search Reddit, expat blogs, Atlas Obscura, and local forums - the places where real people share real opinions. Then we use AI to sift through thousands of posts to find the spots that keep getting mentioned by people who actually live there.

Think of it as having a friend who spent hours researching on Reddit so you don't have to.

Q: How do you actually find these hidden gems?

We do the research you would do - if you had 6 hours. Our system searches across multiple sources:

  • Reddit - City subreddits, travel subs, food communities
  • Expat blogs - People who've lived there for years
  • Atlas Obscura - Unusual and quirky spots
  • Local forums - Regional travel communities

Our AI reads through these posts, identifies places that get genuine enthusiasm (not just "it was okay"), and filters out the tourist traps that pay for promotion.

Q: Why should I trust these recommendations?

We show our work. Every recommendation includes source links so you can see exactly where it came from - the Reddit thread, the blog post, the forum discussion.

We don't take money from restaurants or tour operators. We're not trying to send you somewhere because they paid us. Our recommendations come from real people sharing real experiences.

We also verify geographic accuracy obsessively. If you're going to Paris, France, we triple-check you're not getting recommendations for Paris, Texas.

Q: How can I give feedback?

We genuinely want to hear from you. This isn't corporate speak - we're a small team building something we care about, and your feedback directly shapes what we build next.

Every guide includes a feedback link. Tell us what worked, what didn't, what's missing. Did a recommendation disappoint? Let us know. Did you discover something amazing? We want to hear that too.

You can also use the contact form on this page, or just hit reply on any email from us. A real human reads every message.

Q: What destinations do you cover?

Anywhere with a Reddit community. Major cities worldwide work great - London, Tokyo, Barcelona, Austin, Melbourne. We have strong coverage across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

Smaller cities and off-the-beaten-path destinations can be hit or miss depending on how active the local online community is. We'll always be honest if we don't have enough quality sources for a destination.

Request a destination you don't see - we're constantly expanding our coverage.
